| Heyburn Lake was named for the community of Heyburn which was a post office from 1911 to 1922. Catfishing at the lake is very good and some fisherman declare trotlining is unsurpassed here. Largemouth bass, crappie and sunfish are also found in the headwaters and in the arms of Tiger, Polecat and Brown Creeks. Heyburn Public Hunting Area covers 4,615 acres of project lands and provides hunt opportunities for squirrel, rabbit, quail, waterfowl and wild turkey. |
