Arbuckle Fishing Report
| Platt National Park, near the city of
Sulphur, was once a major attraction because of its mineral
waters. With the construction of Arbuckle Reservoir in 1967 and
formation of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, visitors now enjoy
boating, fishing, hunting, camping and sightseeing. Only a few
miles to the southwest, tourists can also enjoy Arbuckle Wilderness (a
wildlife park) and scenic Turner Falls.
The Lake is one of the best fishing lakes in Oklahoma for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, white bass, and bluegill. Fishing is permitted year round. Quail,
squirrel, rabbit, deer and turkey are available for hunting. |
